Abstract

Subsea technology is one of the rapidly growing fields of technology and has an important role in supporting sustainable development, especially in the use of resources and management of the marine environment. Underwater technology includes various innovations, such as unmanned underwater vehicles (ROVs and AUVs), underwater monitoring systems, marine energy technology, and subsea infrastructure to support industrial activities and marine research. The application of this technology allows exploration, monitoring, and management activities to be carried out more efficiently, safely, and to reduce the impact on the environment. In addition, subsea technology can support the development of renewable energy, monitoring marine ecosystems, and data collection to understand environmental changes and seabed conditions. However, its application still faces various challenges, including high development costs, extreme underwater environmental conditions, limited access, and the need for human resources with special competencies. Therefore, the innovative and sustainable development and application of subsea technology is needed to increase the utilization of marine resources while maintaining ecosystem sustainability. This technology is expected to be one of the solutions in realizing balanced development between economic, social, technological, and environmental aspects.
